Dear Praying Friends:
Thank you so much for your prayers, during our furlough. There have been many unplanned happenings and situations, but the Lord has again been faithful and helped us through each one!
We did delay our return to Kenya by two weeks, and have felt that this was truly of the Lord. We have been able to slow down a bit, and also do some of the needed things that were just not getting done. We have had precious times of fellowship with family and friends. God is so good! Now, we do feel that time has come for our return to the work in Kenya!
Lord willing, we are to fly from Charleston, West Virginia on Wednesday, to Chicago. Then in the evening from Chicago to Zurich, Switzerland and a 20 hour layover, then onto Nairobi on Friday morning, arriving in Kenya 7:40pm. Please pray that all the baggage will be on the right planes at the right times, that we will not be charged for excess baggage, for safety over the near 10,000 miles, and then that everythings arrives in Nairobi, on time, safely, and customs free.
We have had letters from the field saying that they are in very severe drought and famine, for the 4th season. We have been given some generous gifts to help with famine relief. Do pray that this will help to meet the needs of food for many people. Pray too for the health of those who are hungry and so many diseases abound.
Thank you for sharing with us in the work in Kenya, by your prayers and love.
We will write when we can, on our return, and let you know what has happened and how your prayers were answered.
Please keep in touch, as you can, but also please remember not to forward long message, or photos - we will be back to the bush and a very slooooow connection for the e-mail. Thank you!
In His love and service,
Gary and Pat
