Church History

In the Fall of 1951, Brother Charlie Scraggs met with Rev. & Mrs. Buckalew, and members of the congregation to decide about rebuilding of the church.

Mrs. Libby Thomas told us that she and her children Bob, Henry, Walter, Joe, Opal, Grethel, Stanley and Patra, would donate 1/8 acre at the upper part of her property to build the new church building on.

In the Spring of 1952 we started a building fund and through many donations from businesses and individuals, lots of free labor and some paid labor, we had a building ready for services, (minus the ceiling) by the summer of 1953.

We named the Church "Heizer Community Gospel Tabernacle."

During the year of 1994, our church made another change. The name of the church is now "Heizer Creek Community Church." The Church had a new interior remodeling in the summer of 2004 and looks beautiful. Thank the Lord for our wonderful Church.

Our doors are open to all who wish to worship and praise God in the way the "Word" instructs us to do. It's a wonderful place to worship!
